Designing products for others is something that I have always dreamed of doing. The drive to want to design products really started from my time working in running specialty. During my time there I spent my time helping people solve their problems through solutions that already existed. I always found that there were always things to improve upon and certain problems that didn’t have a solution. I’ve also just been around running shoes for a long time and have always been fascinated by the different advancements.

Through this specific industry, I’ve explored more problems that exist in others and how I might be able to help create the solutions. My mind has been opened to the multitude of opportunities out there in the world of design. I have always wanted to be involved with the hands-on process of creating products in a variety of industries, but I have always wanted to become more involved with the endurance sports world creating products for all types of athletes.

I came all the way out to Utah from Tennessee to accomplish these goals with the help of the OPDD program. I’ve learned so many amazing new skills that I hope to be able to put to use and develop throughout the rest of my time at USU and through future work opportunities.
